Loving...A Way of Life

It's Christmas and we think of them
The ones we love so dear
But pray for those who have no-one
And surely, they will hear...

Think of when we thought of them
And didn't make a call,
The times we toyed with memories
Of when we were so small...

They were there in happy times
And times that weren't so good
It helped to know they'd tie our shoe,
Until we understood...

They'd read and scold and hold us
And never miss a clue,
They'd catch us in a little fib,
We'd squeal, "It's really true!"...

The scrapes they cleansed and bruises soothed,
Are scars of younger days,
We grieve, harrass and worry them
Yet still, they love our ways...

They're our Parents and they've seen it all
They gave...and still they give
To pay them back, I know not how,
Just "thank you for the life I live"...

We have our brothers and sisters too,
Those imps we don't see much,
In younger days we seldom cared,
I wish we'd stay in touch...

They'd steal our clothes and "fink" on us
While playing up to Dad
But still we love and miss them
At times we feel so sad...

We're only sad because we sense,
That closer we should be
It's times like Christmas we get tight,
The light of Love, we see...

We have our uncles, cousins and in-laws
And friends we can't forget
There's also some unfortunates
The friends we've never met...

We love them dearly at this time
And express it many ways,
Let's show these feelings all year through
And watch how much it pays...

Then there are the little ones..
Ah, how we've been blessed.
Now we're the parent's in their world,
Our time to meet the test...
 

Our turn to rear and teach them
With dignity and good reason
To let them know these special times
Are more than just a season...

But rather, It's a way of life
For all to live and strive toward,
It's Peace & Love & Harmony,
It started with the Lord...

You've read these sentiments times before,
And most agree they're true...
So Merry Christmas from my heart...
And little Aubrey's too.
