Christmas Poem

Christmas is Love

Lay down bad thoughts & grievances
And let your feelings shine,
We've reached that joyous time of year
We know as Christmas time...

At times it's rough & harried
I guess I'll grant you that,
Let's throw some timber on the fire....And have a little chat...

Though brothers get you angry
and sisters do you wrong,
Just for these few days or so
Let's try to get along...

Let's bury discontentment
And grudges stretched too long,
It's time we really showed our face,
Stopped singing the 'same old song'...

The tree's lit up and glowing
And that I'm sure's a start,
Now smile at someone you don't know
And gladden someone's heart...

Remember how it used to be
Before things looked so bleak,
Let's start again & trudge once more
On another loving-streak...

Wrap your gifts and decorate
With someone you know well,
Make a call to some Old Friend
Who's living in a shell...

Kiss a child or hug a pet
And watch their gleaming eyes
You'll soon begin to like this feeling,
You're trying out for size...

Don't forget the older folks
Who paved the way for all,
Give them a flower as they pass by you....Shopping in the mall...

You'll start to get a tingling glow
That only Love can give
And when it beams & radiates,  You've just begun to live...

We all know this feeling's there,
It sometimes needs a shove
To spread and get much deeper
This feeling we call...Love...

So many things that we can do
To let them know we care,
Love  Peace and Kindness
Are some things we must share...

So open up and spread some Love
And after a little while,
You'll notice people all around
Begin to like it's style...

It's good & warm & giving
And there should be no reason,
Why we can't feel these feelings
For more than just a season...
