CMD Spring Invitational Results

Saturday, April 8, 2006:

At this years Spring Invitational @ Holy Cross  many of you shed your fledgling down and donned strong, beautiful feathers.  (Hmmmm, what the hey, what's he saying??:)

You all have come a long way since the beginning of our 3 mtr training.  You should all be proud for diving your 3 mtr. J.O. lists.

3 METER PERFORMANCES ~ Coach's assessment

In the 12-13 Girls 3 meter..

How about KATIE VOGEL, after a real smack at Thursdays practice, getting up on 3 mtr and ducking down her back 1 1/2 sommy with a half twist (did I dream this :), I cannot pull her sheet up on my puter). KELLY SHERMAN showing consistency and improvement on all her dives up top, especially her reverse takeoffs and twister..

LINDSAY SCUOTEGUAZZA having the toughness to dive J.O. and showing super improvement on one mtr as well.  And MICHELLE HIGGINS displaying her toughness and learning a new 403C and 5321D for the meet and placing 3rd in her first J.O. event.

In the 14-15 Boys 3 meter..

MIKEY MCKENNA showed the right stuff and responded to the challenge...by doing his first-ever inward 1 1/2 sommy in the meet.  One word: intestinal fortitude! ;)  Great job to RYAN SHELLEY for coming into his old form and executing his double twisting 1 1/2 sommy and capturing both 1 and 3 meter gold...and qualifying for AAU Nationals.

In the very competitive Girls 16-18 3 mtr...

ARIANNA LACERTE & JODI COSTELLO burst out of their novice-dom and showed a couple of nice inward 1 1/2's up top...ARIANNA learned a 5321D for the meet and JODI looked good with her new 5132D..
HANNAH REES-leading the way as a non-novice for a while, showed her toughness with her good list which includes 403C, 5132D, 105C, 203B and 5231D. HANNAH is on her way to even tougher dives as a result of her hard work and progress.

In the 9 & Under 3 mtr

KIMBERLY YANG soared beautifully to 1st place with some her impressive list of dives..which includes a real steady 1 1/2 sommy- great entries.

1 meter applause please:

CASEY SHERMAN for a solid performance and winning her event...super improvement on her forward press and spinning...nice twister...

Team B diver- RIAGAIN MAKARY - out of novice and diving superbly in the powerful 10-11 age division.  Showed a real nice 102C.

LAURA NOCKA for improving immensely on her Regionals performance, showing great concentration and an ability to get her "meed mode"...nice double and great 5223D.

and rounding out our BADWEST PERFORMANCES

KIM YANG with a great 1 meter performance giving her a qualifying score for AAU Nationals in the 10-11 age group.

Nice job all around...Enjoy your accomplishments for now, but we cannot rest.  We have newer and harder dives to learn. "Someone out there is working harder than you."
